Join cities nationwide for America’s Night Out Against Crime!
This year's National Night Out is Tuesday, Oct. 3.
National Night Out is designed to:
• Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
• Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs
• Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
• Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back
According to the National Association of Town Watch, last year’s event was the largest ever, involving 38 million people in 16,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide.
While we do not have an official neighborhood event planned for this year, we encourage Brookdale residents to participate by simply turning on your porch light and sitting out on your front porch or driveway to meet and gather with your neighbors during the official time of 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Or feel free to organize a party for your block for whatever timeframe you prefer. (Keep in mind the sun will set that evening at 6:39 p.m.).
We hope you'll take advantage of this special night to get to know your neighbors.
