Food Drive for Parkway Schools

Many school districts serve families dealing with food insecurity, and our own Parkway Schools are no exception. Statistically, one in five students is food insecure. Therefore, Parkway social workers have established a food pantry which helps them serve roughly 400 families every few weeks.

Molly, one of our Brookdale neighbors, would like to help with this need. Now through June 11 you can drop non-perishable food items on her porch at 11871 Spruce Haven Drive.

Most needed items include:
• Canned tuna and chicken
• 16 oz. peanut butter
• Boxed mac and cheese
• 1 pound package of dried pasta and canned pasta sauce (24 oz. is ok)
• Canned meals (SpaghettiOs, ravioli, beef stews and hearty soups)
• Canned chicken noodle soup
• Rice or noodle packets (e.g. Knorrs Pasta & Rice Sides)
• Individual packets of oatmeal
• Individual boxes of cereal

Since this is an ongoing need, here are some other ways you can learn more and help:
• See more details on their flier
• Purchase and donate via their Amazon Wish List
• Make a monetary donation via My School Bucks
• Contact foodpantryrequest@parkwayschools.net

As you are able, thanks for helping families in our community.
