Voter Information for 2020

As we move toward this year's election season, there is increased interest in absentee or mail-in voting due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since we have many older residents, individuals with various health concerns, and new residents who may need to update an address or register, we wanted to provide some helpful voter information.

Per the Missouri Secretary of State's website:

"During the August primary and November general elections in 2020, Missouri voters will be eligible to cast ballots by mail with notarization of the ballot envelope, and voters in at-risk categories for contracting or transmitting COVID-19 are eligible to vote by absentee ballot without obtaining notarization."

You can find more voter details, including how to update your address and register to vote, at either of the following:

• Missouri Secretary of State Election Page: sos.mo.gov/elections
• St. Louis County Board of Elections: stlouisco.com/YourGovernment/Elections

Should notarization be needed, some St. Louis County Library branches are hosting free notary services for mail-in ballots on select dates in July per a recent post on their Facebook page: facebook.com/STLCoLibrary

Deadlines:
General Registration - Fourth Wednesday before an election
Mail-in/Absentee for AUGUST 4 PRIMARY ELECTION - July 22
Mail-in/Absentee for NOVEMBER 3 GENERAL ELECTION - October 21

Of course, in-person voting is still available and encouraged if possible. This year you also have the option of voting at any polling place to help avoid long lines and waits.

For those voting in person who may park inside the neighborhood and walk to your polling place, we thank you for respecting those nearby property owners and taking care not to block any driveways.

We hope this will help everyone to carry out their civic duty despite any limitations. Enjoy your right to vote!
